Turnip, Purple Top
Purple Top Turnips are a cool season annual used in pastures, wildlife food plots, cover crops and gardens. The bulbous root is white and crisp turning purple where exposed above the soil. Popular in soil improvement blends as a broadleaf for keeping soil loose. Deer and livestock eat both the tops and roots. Also grown in vegetable gardens.
Plant 5 pounds per acre for pasture/forage at ¼” deep in the Fall or Spring.
