Hamlin Orange
The Hamlin orange tree is one of the most cold-hardy sweet oranges. Its early-ripening fruit is thin skinned, with only a few seeds and a delicious tangy sweet flavor. Hamlins are excellent for juicing or for fresh eating.
- Season: Early-season producer, with fruit ripening from October through January
- Light: Requires full sun (8+ hours a day)
- Watering: Regular watering is needed, particularly for container-grown trees, with increased frequency during hot summers
- Pollination: Self-pollinating; however, planting more than one tree can increase yields
