Deep red and purple speckled butter pea will add a little color to your meals. The somewhat rounded seeds, sometimes called butter peas or lima beans, have a wonderful creamy texture and nutty flavor when cooked. The Dixie Speckled Butterpea is an open pollinated, heirloom variety that likes the heat and is quite popular in Southern gardens.
